Some of you might have experienced/heard, directly or indirectly, unpleasant, or even horrible stories of failures regarding manufacturing in China. I personally believe at least some of them are true, though some have to be regrettably distorted or exaggerated. Quality of factories in China do vary over an incredibly wide spectrum, from extremely adverse and primitive ones in bungalows or even scaffoldings out in the boondocks, to highly professionally organized and well managed enterprises in premium sites.

Over the years, I have had the advantage of doing business with factories in different disciplines in different parts of China. Yes, I did have my fingers burnt more than once, with frustrations I hate to even remember. The good news though, is now I have good relationship with a good number of factories that have proven their worth over the years in terms of professionism, co-operation, efficiency, loyalty, and responsibility, not necessarily in this order. Through them, my manufacturing network can actually expand with minimum effort and manageable risk.
