- I understand there are traditional Chinese and simplified Chinese. Can you do both?
- Other than technical documents, can you translate other types like legal, medical, etc?
- Do you use translation software to do the job?
- Can you do both English to Chinese and Chinese to English?

- (I understand there are Traditional Chinese and Simplified Chinese. Can you do both?) --- Yes. Actually, Traditional Chinese (TC) and Simplified Chinese (SC) are just the same language expressed in different fonts (granted also stored in different double-byte codes when it comes to soft copies). There is not much difference in the translation process. That said, however, for some English terms, the Chinese translation is different in different areas, like Hong Kong (TC), Taiwan (TC), or Mainland China (SC). It is therefore advisable that we be informed of the intended area the translation is to be used. This way, we can provide the proper translation in the proper terms and codings. (Back to Top)
- (Other than technical documents, can you translate other types like legal, medical, etc?) --- Yes. But those will be sub-contracted to specialized firms in those areas. We would monitor the technical terms involved though, as our experience shows that translators for legal documents are not necessarily conversant with technical terms as well. (Back to Top)
- (Do you use translation software to do the job?) --- No. We've tried a few of these software's, but were not quite satisfied with the result, and usually ended up spending more time correcting the errors. We feel that it will be still some time before this technology is mature enough for practical use. All our translation is done manually with qualified staff.

- (How do you charge for this service?) --- We'd quote a charge per 100 words. There's a minimum charge of US$50. For document more than 3,000 words, there is usually a quantity discount. The rate will be higher if the document is terms-intensive, as more research is required to ascertain the correctness of the translation, with regard to the geographical area of application. The format also affects the quote, e.g., the charge will be different for translating a drawing, an artwork, a specification, etc. (Back to Top)
