Chairbacks

This is a health product for people with back problems or injuries. The design was done in 3D. This is not an easy task for 3D design as the human body is not a simple combination of geometric blocks. Shown here are renderings off the 3D file for easy viewing for our client. The same file after approval was sent to a CNC machine center to mill out a prototype in nylon so client can consult with their orthopedic experts and get some initial feedback from patients.

Using 3D design, the lead time from "drawing board" to product "on the shelf" was cut short dramatically.

Golf Cart

This is a complete re-design to replace the previous build of the product. Plastic parts that were weak in structure were replaced with steel parts. Some mechanical links to open and collapse the wheels were hidden in the spine to improve general aesthetics of the product. The overall cost of the product was also cut down by about 30%.

Shown here are renderings off the 3D assembly. The inset shows part of the steel mechanism in exploded view. Our presentation to clients for approval of our designs are mainly done in this way, so they would understand at a glance of the key issues of our efforts.

Custom Designed Tools

Shown here is a disposable hole saw that goes as part of a kit to install another product. This had to be low cost yet efficient.

Shown in the background are the design drawings, the upper one in English for our customer approval, and the lower one in Chinese so the factory understands fully what's required. Bilingual drawings and specifications is one of our strengths to get things made with minimum risk of error due to misinterpretation of documents.

Custom Made Valve Guard

Customer had an exceptionally large valve that none standard guards would fit. The valve was sent to us and we designed around it, and what is shown here is the result. The valve guard has to be in two pieces, and can pass the stringent drop test requirement of BS EN962.

This is only one of the examples of industrial gas valve guards designed by us.

Electronic Products

Shown here are some electronic products designed and manufactured by us. We can provide both toy and instrument grade devices. The bubble diagram is our specification for the operation of one of the products. One of our partner software firms designed according this specification, provided a prototype for testing and approval, and then had the design masked for the Integrated Circuit (IC) chip to be manufactured.

We can provide Surface Mount Technology (SMT) for the circuit boards for larger volume production quantities.

Outdoor Display - Bronze Lantern

We undertook this project to design, manufacture, and install this pair of bronze lanterns, over two meters tall, in front of the main entrance to the Sheraton Hotel in Chengdu, China. We started with some art sketches, a 1/4 scaled clay model, and then a full scaled one to have approval along the way, with minor modification at almost every step.

The final models were cast in one piece and installed in place. They are lit up at night from both the inside and out, and the sight is really spectacular.

The factory that manufactured these models for us received so much enquiries afterwards concerning this product, that they have developed a full series of display units based on similar concepts in various sizes and different materials, as shown in the inset.

Earth Quake Machine Model

This is a model of the seismometer (or simply earth quake machine) designed by Zhang Heng almost two thousand years ago in China. The purpose was for the emperor in Beijing to note first hand if an earth quake had struck and in which direction by seeing if any of the balls held in the mouth of the dragons had fallen into the mouth of the toad below. Each toad represents one direction with Beijing as the center.

The architect for this hotel project liked to have this idea on display in the main lobby, and yet was somewhat put off by the aesthetics of the official depiction of the instrument (shown here in inset). There is no question of authenticity, as the original device was long destroyed, and only written description has survived. We took up this job to produce a glorified version of this great piece of equipment, and what's shown here is the result.

Display Unit

This is a display unit for the SPA section of a hotel in Lotus Hill, Guangdong, China. The architect gave us the concept of this model, and we executed to the final details as well as producing and installing the finished unit. The top part here shows the actual unit installed in place, and the bottom is a rendering from our 3D design. As is obvious here, the unit actually looks almost identical to the rendering- a proof of our workmanship and attention to details.

The unit is composed of acrylic rods each bent to the precise curvature as designed. The sight is very impressive with lighting at the proper angles.
